Het Nederlands Instituut voor Navigatie (NIN) feliciteert Max van Hees van harte met het winnen van de NIN Scriptieprijs 2024/2025. Met zijn BSc-scriptie aan de Nederlandse Defensie Academie, getiteld “De potentie van voorwaartse insnijding anno 2024”, overtuigde Max de jury als beste genomineerde navigatie-gerelateerde scriptie van het studiejaar.
Als onderdeel van de prijs mocht Max deelnemen aan de European Navigation Conference (ENC) 2025 in Wrocław, Polen. Daar presenteerde hij de kernpunten van zijn onderzoek tijdens een posterpresentatie – en dat bleef niet onopgemerkt. Max ontving namelijk ook de prestigieuze “Outstanding Presentation Award” voor zijn heldere en inspirerende bijdrage.
Namens het NIN spreken wij onze grote waardering en trots uit voor deze dubbele erkenning.

NIN Thesis Award winner Max van Hees honored at ENC 2025 in Wroclaw
The Netherlands Institute of Navigation (NIN) warmly congratulates Max van Hees on winning the NIN Thesis Award 2024/2025. With his BSc thesis at the Netherlands Defence Academy, entitled “The Potential of Forward Intersection in 2024”, Max convinced the jury as the best navigation-related thesis of the academic year.
As part of the award, Max was invited to attend the European Navigation Conference (ENC) 2025 in Wrocław, Poland. There he presented the key findings of his research during a poster session – and his effort did not go unnoticed. Max also received the prestigious “Outstanding Presentation Award” for his clear and inspiring contribution.
